Who would even think of using amniotic fluid for gynecology! Controversial perhaps. I presented three years ago internationally and opened a few eyes. Most of you reading this will find it quite interesting read on:
How do you get this stuff
Is it safe?
What does it do?
Can it work with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)?
All good questions I will answer. If you are not a paid subscriber you really should join to hear my spin on these newer technologies you won’t from mainstream medicine. Weekly detailed and useful materials for ten bucks a month. So worth it.
I started my research into Amniotic Fluid around 2016-2017 when PRP was getting lots of traction worldwide. Dr. Runels was teaching his O-Shot and Vampire procedures and helping both doctors and patients worldwide. A full blown phenomenon had had started. A company in Arizona approached me and presented their amniotic fluid product for a trial. No one had used it for Gyn conditions so they picked my brain on where it may be useful for. I tried amniotic membrane to aid healing in the past but it kept falling off. I then used micronized amniotic membrane as a powder and as a liquid suspension to see if it would help with healing and found it useful but way too expensive for the average person. It was about $2,500 for 1cc back in 2010. Ahead of its time but unaffordable. Now this new company was able to dramatically cut the price to about $600 per cc so I became interested again. With volume use I cut the cost to $300 per cc and I was off and running.
Amniotic products worldwide were used quite a bit. My good friend Amr Seifeldin in Cairo, Egypt, had been using amniotic membrane for pelvic reconstructive surgery in place of cadaver skin and nylon and getting good results. He presented his data at my 2011 meeting and again in 2015 in Orlando. He still uses amniotic membrane from CSections and is also able to obtain amniotic fluid for a fraction of the cost in the US.
So you can see below the worldwide use for wounds and burns. A huge market really.
So here is what we will cover in this newsletter. My personal experience of the pure amniotic fluid since 2019.
What fascinated me initially was that the amniotic fluid was stored in room temperature and ready for use by itself or mixed with PRP. Off the shelf. No blood taken and no centrifuge needed. So I used it directly for O-Shots, overactive bladder, and thin itchy pale skin sometimes found in the vaginal area called Lichen Sclerosis. I mixed with with PRP and increased the concentration of both Growth Factors and Cytokines. See below on what this magical fluid contained:
So where did this come from? The source? From infertility patients who had been screen multiple times for various infections. These were checked below:
Lots of testing. Never an infection found after thousands and thousands of uses so the FDA let it be used initially.
The amazing thing to me was that it not only had Growth Factors to aid in the healing cascade and to augment the results of PRP but that it was chock full of Cytokines, proteins that could have anti-inflammatory effect, so I started using it on inflammatory conditions specifically overactive bladders and irritated vulvar and vaginal tissues.
I did more safety studies and found it well tolerated and painless and with similar efficacy for inflammatory conditions as the best PRP around. I I helped the company release if for Gyn specific use. We were off and running. Subscribe and take a look below at all the uses of amniotic fluid for the past 30+ years.
